Nurse Practitioner Sherry Owen, NP, APRN has expertise and certification in Gynecology Women’s Health. She has studied extensively Holistic Lifestyle Medicine and Nutrition, and is a Certified Consumer Wellness Advocate. Graduating in 1986 from Elmhurst College with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Sherry started her career at a teaching Hospital in the northern suburbs of Chicago in Intensive Coronary Care, then transferred to Maternity Labor and Delivery which is where she found her passion and joy to care for women. In 1989, Sherry returned back to school at the University of Wisconsin to complete her Formal Nurse Practitioner education in Women’s Health. After graduation, she gave back to her community by working with a family planning clinic as well as started in a private physician practice and continued working on the Maternity floor for the remainder of the year. Sherry then focused on developing and building the OBGYN practice which blossomed into one of the largest OBGYN offices in Northern Lake County.
Now her next venture is continuing to pursue the joy she gets from her work and her passion of caring for her patients by “Taking The Time To Listen” as she did at Associates for Women’s Health. However, this time Sherry is doing it solo and she is confident that Abundant Wellness, LLC will be everything it should be. Designing this around what You want in a health care provider and more with the added Telehealth Consultations and flexible scheduling to be there for You.
For over 15 years, NP Sherry has been a mentor as well as giving back to her nursing colleagues by advising and precepting NP and PA students from universities throughout the U.S. She remains engaged in continued education, certifications, teaching preceptorships, and maintains memberships at ISAPN along with other professional organizations.
